Count of Various Emergencies by Year: 2010-2019

In this prototype, I used the count of different emergency types, as well as the year in which they occurred, to create an area chart. This area chart will give us insight into the types of emergencies that the San Francisco Fire Department should be equipped to handle, and roughly what types of emergencies they can expect to encounter the most.
For this visualization, plan to incorporate some details on demand, to allow the viewer to gain more insights. In particular, I hope to show the exact count of an emergency type in a given year, based on where the viewer's mouse is hovering.
In terms of the theme, we want to answer the question: is the San Francisco Fire Department fully equipped to handle the multitude and wide range or emergencies that occur in San Francisco. This chart gives us insight into the number and type of emergencies that occur in San Francisco, so that we can better understand where the San Francisco Fire Department should allocate their resources.
